Surround Processor 057
The 057 Surround Processor is the newest multichannel component by Burmester Audiosystems. Our goal in designing this unit was to create a processor which is uncompromisingly geared towards delivering the highest sound quality and, at the same time, is easy to use. It has all the pedigree from its big brother, the 007, but for a more affordable price.
In order to achieve these goals, we employed a number of technical features in the 057 which have already been well proven in other Burmester components, such as:
- Supplied with Dolby Digital EX™, DTS ES™, DTS Neo:6™, and Dolby Prologic II™ as standard
- Fully balanced amplification
- Completely DC-coupled, i.e. no capacitors in the signal path
- Inputs may be specified by choice
- Audio and video inputs may be set individually
- Automatic overload control
- LipSync function

Five years after Burmester Audiosysteme had startet their new chapter of home theatre and surround sound technologies with the launch of the Surround Processor 007, another promising multi-channel device followed.
TheTop Line Surround Processor 057 offers almost identical features of the Reference Line processor 007 in a consolidated construction. The 057 is a future-proof investment due to its ability to receive factory-provided updates.
All functions of the Surround Processor 057 can be controlled externally via BurLink with the use of control systems like CrestronTM or AMXTM. The 057 supports Dolby® Digital Surround EXTM, DTS Digital Surround | ES | Neo:6TM und Pro Logic® II. It has fully balanced amplification, automatic overload control and supports 7.1 standards. The 057 is fully ballanced and completely DC-coupled, this means, it has no capacitors in the signal path.
The distinct design of the 057 results in a very aesthetic appearance. Despite its complex features, the Surround Processors’ functionality is held logically, so that the operation remains self-explanatory. Dispensable controls and functions have been left out deliberately. Separate configurations are storable in four setups in order to allow immediate access to individual settings, for example like LipSync-Delay for perfect synchronisation between picture and sound.
